These pages form a non-profit, general interest web site. As such, I
am constantly on the lookout for relevant contributions from any willing
source e.g. old photographs of wrecks, local lifeboats, crew members etc.
Research to date, has lead me to one of the medals awarded after the Sirenia
disaster in 1888, but the whereabouts of the other three remain a mystery.
I have also located one of the three 'Eider' medals.
If you can shed any light on any of the missing medals, please
contact me.
Three watches were awarded to the Lifeboat Coxswains following the successful
Eider rescue. I have located William Cotton's watch and James Cotton's
watch, photographs of which are now on the Awards
& Medals page. Any information regarding the present owner of
John Hayter's watch would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
